Welcome to Reception - England Class
Mrs S Duffield - I have had the pleasure of working at Cirencester Primary School for 12 years. Over the last 7 years I have led the Infant Department and helped to develop Cherry Trees Nursery as well as teaching Reception and Year 1 classes.
I have enjoyed getting to know many Cirencester families, sometimes having taught several siblings and family members. Teaching EYFS and KS1 gives me the opportunity to start the children on their learning journeys. Creating a creative, engaging and fun learning environment sets the foundation for a positive start for each child’s education.
Before I joined Cirencester Primary I worked in many schools within the Gloucestershire area, including Woodside Primary School in the Forest of Dean where I taught in a split Reception/Year 1 class and several inner city Gloucester schools where I taught all years groups between Reception and Year 6. I have also gained experience working in a special needs unit working with SEND children who were between the ages of 4 to 11.
I love the fact that Cirencester Primary School is constantly developing and always gives 100% to the children in its care and to be part of this exciting journey is a privilege.
Mrs E Wilkinson - I qualified as a primary school teacher 20 years ago in 1997 having spent 4 years studying a BAed Hons degree in English, P.E and Primary Education at Exeter University.
I have fond memories as I started my journey into my very first teaching practices based around Devon. I knew I was on the right track as the late nights planning one lesson didn't put me off! I still remember many of the children from my teaching practice and even began writing a children's book based on some of them for my English degree. I've yet to finish it!
After qualifying I decided to travel for a year and ventured off to Australia and New Zealand, visiting various islands on the way! On my return, I took up my first teaching post at a primary school in Swindon. I stayed there for 10 years before taking time out to have my children. I have been at Cirencester Primary School for 11 years now working on a part time basis. I have been lucky enough to work with all the age groups from Reception to Year 6 and it has been a pleasure to watch the children grow through the years. With our values and ethos, both staff and children continue to strive bringing us together as Cirencester Primary School.
Mrs M Hopegood - I have been a member of the team at CPS for the last 14 years and I'm based in The Foundation Stage.I love working with the children and seeing them engage and grow into independent learners , it is so wonderful to see them take their first steps along their own learning journey. I am also a member of the breakfast club team. I have 3 "grown up" boys of my own who keep me busy when I'm not at school!
