Welcome

Ofsted - Good provider

On behalf of Cirencester Primary School, it is my pleasure to welcome you to our website.

I hope it will give you a flavour of our wonderful school and a window into our learning community.

It is an honour and a privilege to be the Headteacher of Cirencester Primary School.

Cirencester Primary School is a school that is proud of its outward looking and future thinking educational offerings, taught with a truly dedicated focus by passionate and committed staff. What is truly unique to Cirencester Primary School, is the level of expertise amongst our staff. Our carefully constructed school curriculum is planned with all of our children in mind, by subject experts. We ensure that the interests, strengths and ambitions of every pupil are included within the scope of our curriculum, whatever their passion may be. This is achieved through our careful balance of key knowledge and relevant skill development, alongside the application of learning behaviours.

Through our Big Question enquiry work, we teach our pupils how to explore their subjects, give them the confidence to question their learning and, ultimately, the skillsets to achieve well.

Cirencester Primary School continues to be a school graded ‘Good’ by Ofsted in every category; we are pleased with the recognition and validation that reading is placed firmly at the centre of our curriculum, and it is through our bespoke school curriculum that we raise pupils’ aspirations about possible career paths.

Cirencester Primary is a Values Based school, where adults model the behaviour we expect of our pupils and as a result our pupils are happy and proud of their school. They speak positively about the care, guidance and support they receive from staff. (Ofsted Inspection March 2022)

At the heart of our school is the belief that all pupils can achieve well and all pupils can reach higher and stretch further when they feel the support from others around them. This sense of community enables everyone to develop a sense of belonging, as well as teaching lifelong respect and a sense of personal responsibility.

Cirencester Primary school is situated just outside of the town centre in amazing grounds, and we are blessed with great outdoor space, and a fabulous large field for the children to play on all year round. We like to make the most of being outdoors, whether that be at break times and lunchtimes, as part of our two hours a week PE/Games offer, or just enjoying our learning in the outdoors in our Forest School area.

We have three shared core values – be positive, be respectful and be caring, and we have ten school values in total which underpin everything that we feel is important.  These values form the basis of our recognition and effort awards in our weekly celebration assembly, where we celebrate the achievements and attitudes of those children who have stood out each week.

We are focussed on ensuring that the wellbeing of those in our school community is key to our successes as a school. The children are given the opportunities to reflect on their learning and opportunities outside and inside to ensure that they are happy, healthy and well.

The whole staff team, whatever their role in school, are involved in giving your child consistency in expectations, respect and a high-quality teaching and learning culture in school.

Our children are happy and enjoy coming to school and being part of the Cirencester Primary School family.  We ensure that they experience success in a nurturing and inclusive environment.  Our children are excited to learn, kind, polite and supportive of one another.

We want our children to be the best that they can be and this is underpinned by our vision where we aim to be a community where everyone feels a sense of belonging by a love of learning, is supported and encouraged to have a sense of personal responsibility, and is enabled to be self- motivated to achieve great success.   We aspire to provide the best start for our children on their life-long learning journey.

As you will see, we offer a broad, balanced and rich curriculum full of experiences, opportunities, knowledge and skills to inspire children to become successful learners in our school and beyond.  Our aim is that our children leave our school with fond memories and are fully prepared for the next stage of their education.

Our school is well-resourced with talented, enthusiastic, supportive and committed staff. Working together as a school family, we can ensure that children are both happy and successful at school.

By the time our pupils leave primary school at the end of Year 6, they are well prepared for their next stage of education, having experienced a wide breadth of opportunities both in and outside of the classroom. With communication skills, health, well-being and our School Values driving our school, we know children look back with great fondness at their time at Cirencester Primary School, and can stride ahead with confidence into whichever setting is next for them.

As you visit our school, you will meet happy, kind, caring and motivated pupils who speak highly of their school and most of all places value on being a positive, respectful and caring community.

So, let me welcome you to our school and invite you to experience the warmth and strength of our community first hand by contacting our School Office and our Admissions team.
