Events

At Cirencester Primary School, we take part in many events which compliment our curriculum and further extend pupils' learning and enjoyment of school. Some examples of these events are:

  • Productions to showcase pupils' drama, music and dance skills. EYFS pupils perform a Christmas-themed show at the end of autumn term, Y1/2 pupils perform a topic-related show in spring term and Y5/6 pupils end the school year with their summer production. The whole school enjoys watching these shows as well as there being performances for family members to enjoy.
  • Enrichment days, such as Y1/2 Roman Day pictured below, are designed to further pupils' learning about a class theme in addition to the National Curriculum objectives already taught.
  • Subject specific national events such as World Book Day, Black History Month and Number Day. This year, for World Book Day, we chose the book 'The day the crayons quit' as a whole school theme. Even the staff got involved with the dressing up!
  • Whole school enrichment events such as Art Days, fun runs and Big Experience days when pupils chose from a range of activities such as cooking, radio presenting, creating animations, performing a dance or hiking up a hill.
  • Christmas events such as pantomimes, Christingles and Carol Concerts, where pupils have more opportunities to perform for an audience by singing, reading or performing poetry.
