Welcome to Wales Class
Lyrics - Starman by David Bowie
Didn't know what time it was and the lights were low
I leaned back on my radio
Some cat was layin' down some get it on rock 'n' roll, he said
Then the loud sound did seem to fade
Came back like a slow voice on a wave of phase haze
That weren't no D.J. that was hazy cosmic jive
There's a starman waiting in the sky
He'd like to come and meet us
But he thinks he'd blow our minds
There's a starman waiting in the sky
He's told us not to blow it
Cause he knows it's all worthwhile
He told me:
Let the children lose it
Let the children use it
Let all the children boogie
I had to phone someone so I picked on you
Hey, that's far out so you heard him too
Switch on the TV we may pick him up on channel two
Look out your window I can see his light
If we can sparkle he may…
This week, Wales class have been learning about art in nature.
The children looked at the artwork of Andy Goldsworthy and how he creates temporary pieces of art using natural objects. They then used autumn leaves and objects to create their own piece of natural art.
We have been writing and performing poetry about autumn too.
The videos of these poems will be uploaded shortly.
This week, we are using the story of the Jolly Postman or Other People's Letters by Janet and Allan Allberg to help us learn about human and physical features of our local environment and write a story.
We started by labeling a map of the places the Jolly Postman visited and then walked around school to find clues where the different characters might live around school. The Wicked Witch was hiding in a small cottage near the nursery.
