Is it too late to save our planet?
Topic Overview
Design and Technology
We have been thinking about how we impact the world around us. We looked at different types of rubbish and thought about what could be recycled, reused and reduced.
Kitchen sponges are non-recyclable plastic and we throw away numerous sponges every year per household.
We used old tights and socks that would also be thrown away to make a washable, reusable version.
We then made paper pulp using shredded paper from the bin and used it to make our own recycled paper.
Did you know that 3,000 trees worth of paper are sent for recycling everyday in NewYork city?
Dance
In dance, we have been using our bodies expressively to create shapes and movements to match the animals in the rainforest.
History
We have compared pictures from the past to now and thought about the changes happening. We made predictions about what these areas might look like in the future.
Maths - Multiplication
We have introudcued the children to the 2x, 5x, and 10x tables. Here we were understanding that x tables is about counting in groups and that all groups need to be equal.
